Sahar Rent A Car

Rental terms & conditions

What documents do I need to rent a car?

UAE residents: copy of passport, resident visa (Emirates ID) and UAE driving licence. Tourists: copy of passport, visit visa and a driving licence from the US, Canada, EU or GCC, or an International Driving Permit.

What is the minimum age to rent a car?

The driver must be at least 21 years old.

What insurance is included?

Every car comes with basic insurance as required by UAE law. You can add Super CDW (full insurance) to reduce your excess. In case of an accident or damage a police report is required; without it, all charges are the renter's responsibility even if CDW was taken. Insurance covers use within the UAE only, unless agreed in advance.

When will I get my security deposit back?

The security deposit is released 14 working days after the car is returned, once traffic fines and Salik are settled. Some cars can be rented without a deposit — ask us.

How are Salik / Darb toll gates charged?

Each Salik or Darb crossing is charged at AED 5 and billed at the end of your rental.

What if I drive more than the included kilometres?

Most cars include 4,000 km per month. Extra kilometres are charged at AED 0.50 per km.

Prices and VAT

All prices are in UAE Dirhams (AED). 5% VAT is added to the rental and extras. Quotes on this website are estimates; the final price is confirmed by our team before the rental starts.

Traffic fines

Traffic fines and black points incurred during the rental are the renter's responsibility and may be deducted from the security deposit.
